Post for yesterday, 2/10/11

Total and complete failure of a day. I woke up at 7:15 and knew that it wasn't going to be a good day.  I didn't even feel like going to class, but I still did. Of course the bus had to break down 10 miles away from PW campus.  It took a few minutes to get it running again...sorta.  It may have been one of ten thousand things that could have gone wrong on these old buses but whatever it was, it caused the entire bus to shake rather violently back and forth for the remaining ten miles to school.  We got to PW campus and I had barely recovered from my throbbing headache and whiplash, so I decided I would get some hot chocolate because it was pretty cold on a bus with little or no heat blowing.  With my luck, I would burn my tongue/throat on the first sip.  24 hours later it still hurts.  Got to class and sat down expecting to learn something new on this...wonderful new day.  Nope, not one person understood a single powerpoint slide from the 70+ she showed us. After an hour and change 'learning' about the endocrine system, which we still know little about thanks to uninformative powerpoint slides, it was time to get back on a bus to get back to Fairfax. Class let out at about 10:10. The bus comes every hour, on the hour. Yep, 50 more minutes to wait. The bus ride back was alright except that I got stuck in the back, pretty close to the rear axle, so every tiny bump we went over, I was sure to know it.  My neck, head, and now my back were sore as I walked back to my room to maybe take a nap and sleep it off. Said nap never happened, but we did go get chick-fil-a for lunch.  Well, attempted to.  There were no doors even close to cfa, but the line was out the door. I wasn't waiting that long for some chicken.  Instead, I got some fake chipotle, and you can tell when its fake.  Meghan needed to pick up a prescription from giant, get some gas, and an oil change.  Why not do that? Nothing can go wrong there, right? Giant got the wrong prescription and she needs to go back tomorrow, gas is still expensive so she could only get a gallon and a half, which luckily gets her about 50-60 miles in her 95 Honda civic.  You may be saying, 50-60 mpg, that's awesome I wish I got that! Yeah at least your brakes work. I'll explain in a sec after I try to figure out why nobody wants to do oil changes in Fairfax, VA.  Went to one place, no mechanics.  Riiiiight. Another place, the guy told me it would take some time and to go somewhere else. ARE YOU STUPID?  Oil changes don't take 5 min. They take time. I know that. You're trying to make money. I'm trying to get a stupid oil change. You don't want money? I'll make sure everybody knows that. Back to the civic. The brakes...I just don't know whats wrong with them. They were fine last time we drove somewhere, which was about 3 weeks ago.  Parked the car and it was fine. Come back today and there is a clicking noise coming from the rear left brake. I get out to check it, but because of the cheap rims that have holes the size of a quarter in them I cant feel or even hardly see the rotor.  That clicking is still there. And we still don't have an oil change. I'll do it myself, thanks Fairfax. Another problem. Housing. Why are we building brand new dorms that are basically like hotel suites, for freshmen?  Why not give the worst housing to them, like we got this year?  We're in some of the oldest dorms on campus, and the new ones are for upperclassmen.  How about we keep it that way? I think the only good thing that happened yesterday was a 10/10 on an online bio quiz.  Great day, wouldn't you agree? Off to class now lets see how today goes. Oh yeah and instead of working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday like last week, I only got scheduled for Saturday. Hmmm....
